How To Stretch Your Holiday Dollar when buying Halloween Costumes!

*Stretch Your Holiday Dollar, no coupons needed:
-A great way to save money is to buy holiday items when they go on clearance. Last year after Halloween I went to K-Mart and they had all their costumes 90% off. They had this Transformers Bumblebee Costume regular $29.99 for just $2.90! I bought it two sizes bigger (knowing my son never stops growing and will be able to wear it by next year).
Sure enough it fits him perfectly and he loves it and it only cost me $2.90!! I was also able to pick up this cute Tigger costume for my other son for just $2.00 at a yard sale last year. So they both have their Halloween Costumes for this year and I only spent $4.90 out of pocket for both costumes! This is a great way to save money and they will also be able to use them all year long to play dress up with. :) So make sure to wait for the clearance after Halloween this year and buy costumes for next year.

My Albertson's Trip: Stock up on chicken

My Albertson's Trip

Spent: $49.21 ($2.84 of it was tax)  Saved: $79.65    # Items: 21 Items

-I got 13 packages of signature boneless skinless chicken breast/tenders, 2 packages of shrimp, 4 packages of Oscar Mayer lunch meat, 1 Bob's Red Mill Wheat Germ, and 1 tub of Albertson's Fat Free Sour Cream.

*I was driving by the Albertson's in Caldwell on Blaine when I noticed a big sign that said chicken $1.69 lb. Since I'm down to only a few packs of chicken I couldn't resist stopping to see if they had any chicken left, since it's always sold out when I do happen to see their sign. Sure enough they had some chicken :) :) so I decided to stock up. The two packs of shrimp had a $1/1 manager's special coupon, the Bob's Red Mill Wheat Germ was marked down to $1.19 (we use these in fruit smoothies), the lunch meat was $1.00 and I had .50/2 coupon which rounded up to $1/2 making them .50 cents each. The fat free sour cream was $1.69 I didn't have a coupon for it but I needed it and I'm still under budget so I grabbed it. So even though I only used 2 coupons I still saved almost $80 just buy waiting for my chicken to go on sale. I saved almost 50% on each pack of chicken I bought and it's the signature brand which already has the fat trimmed. :)

Can you cook fast healthy meals if you coupon? YES!

What's Cookin??

-Is it possible to cook fast healthy meals if you coupon??? YES...
The other night I knew by the time I got home I wouldn't have much time to get dinner for my family so before we left I put some chicken breast, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, carrots, broccoli, and some Mrs. Dash into my crockpot on high for 4 hours. When we got back home I added 3 biscuits to the crockpot and cooked for another hour (which gave me enough time to get everyone situated before dinner). This dinner was very easy, inexpensive and my family loved it. My boys like to add saltine crackers to theirs.

*I used canned carrots (.25 cents), 1 can of broth (.20 cents), 1 can of cream of chicken (.25 cents), broccoli (free from my garden), chicken ($1.00), biscuits (.09 cents) and mrs. dash (free) so my total cost for the meal was $1.79!! I was able to get all of these items with coupons (the chicken I bought on sale and the broccoli from my garden). So hope this answers your question.

Albertson's Coupon Round-up ALL WEEK!!

*Albertson's is doing Round Ups ALL WEEK!! If you are new to couponing or new to Albertson's Round-Up here is how it works...

  • Coupons $0.25 – $0.99 are rounded up to $1
  • Coupons $0.24 or less will be quadrupled
  • There is no limit to how many coupons you can use in transaction as long as the coupon does not limit quantities
  • You cannot get overage on a rounded up coupon, the value will just be zeroed out. (For example if you purchase Yoplait Simplait yogurt for $0.50 and use the $0.30/1 coupon the coupon would round up to $0.50 to give you the item for FREE, not $1 to give you $0.70 overage.)
  • Coupons will automatically round up at the register
